To make a tax-exempt purchase, the customer must provide a valid tax-exempt certificate at the time of purchase.
In order to obtain a tax-exempt certificate, the customer must first register as a tax-exempt entity with their state’s tax authority.
Once the entity has been approved, it will receive a tax-exempt certificate which can be used for tax-free purchases from Guitar Center and other retailers.
It’s important to note that tax laws and requirements may vary by state, so it’s advisable to check with your state’s tax authority for specific requirements and procedures.
Additionally, Guitar Center also offers a Tax-Exempt Program for customers who have a valid resale certificate. This program allows business customers to purchase products for resale without paying sales tax. To enroll in this program, the customer must provide a copy of their resale certificate and complete a Tax-Exempt Program Application.
