2N5088 vs 2N5089: Comparison

The 2N5088 and 2N5089 are NPN bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) used in various analog and digital circuits. The main difference between these two transistors is their maximum collector current:

  • 2N5088 has a maximum collector current (IC) of 600mA
  • 2N5089 has a maximum collector current (IC) of 800mA

Both transistors have a similar maximum collector-emitter voltage (VCE) rating of 60V and a maximum collector-emitter saturation voltage (VCE(sat)) of 1V.

They also have similar switching speeds and are both commonly used for amplification and switching applications.

However, the 2N5089 is preferred over the 2N5088 for high-current applications, due to its increased maximum collector current.
